Set up in 2006 by the College of Law and Sutton Trust, the programme targets 17/18 year olds whose parents have not been to university or who have been eligible for free school meals. 400 students a year are enrolled in the programme to aid their understanding, interest and access to legal education. Some elements are delivered by the universities (how to fill an application to university, CV and interview techniques, law workshops), law firms (work experience), e-mentoring (Brightside Trust), visit to Inner temple and Royal Courts of Justice in London etc. two thousand students have benefited from the programme and the additional funding for Phase 3 will enable 1200 more placements.
