This project aims to increase the understanding and application of the rule of law in the UK parliament. It will do so using two avenues: Providing secretariat support for a new All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on the rule of law. Building the evidence base and measuring impact by annual reviews of the way the rule of law is used in Parliament. The Bingham Centre will produce an annual review of parliamentary discussion of the rule of law that year (including frequency, depth of analysis, members speaking and case studies). Importantly, all work would be completely cross-party. The inherently cross-party nature of APPGs ensures this will be the case.
