Grant: £10,000
November 9, 2016

This project is to enable KIND UK to partner with commercial law firms to support pro-bono capacity for legal advice and representation to enable children/young people with irregular immigration status to regularise their status and enjoy the rights of settled residency.

Strategic aims

  • Build a pro bono network with the capacity and scale to address the needs of approximately 120,000 migrant children living in the UK with irregular immigration status
  • Identify and litigate important issues related to children’s rights
  • Promote public understanding of the needs of the children and young people we support
  • Use project data and experiences to communicate about the needs and experiences of children; actively seeking to influence systems blocking children from resolving immigration problems.
