Disability Law Service guide to making your website accessible to disabled people

Website accessibility and usability are terms which refer to inclusive practices for ensuring that digital content can be fully enjoyed by everyone. There were an estimated 6.1 million disabled internet users with access needs in 2016, so the importance of inclusion cannot be overstated. Moreover, failure to make a website accessible could lead to an organisation falling foul of the Equality Act 2010.

TLEF has commissioned a guide to best practices for ensuring that your website is both accessible and usable by disabled people, including a review of the relevant law. The guide was prepared by Disability Law Service, a charity that provides free legal advice to disabled people and their carers (dls.org.uk).
