The Supreme Court of the United Kingdom Arts Trust

The Supreme Court of the United Kingdom Arts Trust

The Supreme Court Arts Trust (SCAT) was registered as a charity in 2016 to promote public education on the connection between art, law and justice in the context of the UK and the Commonwealth legal systems.

The SCAT intends to act as a platform for the presentation of historical, current, and thematic case-studies of legal subjects to a wide public audience.

It will build on the UKSC’s track record of successful summer exhibitions, which have taken advantage of the considerable footfall of visitors at a period when the court is not sitting (typically c.20,000 in the months of August and September). The SCAT’s aim is to make the summer exhibitions a ‘destinational’ activity, attracting impressive exhibit loans and reaching a wide audience with creative and thought-provoking content related to subjects of law and justice.
